Rosa Lee Wesemann

Rosa Lee Wesemann, 93, peacefully departed this life on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at her home in Harrisonville, Missouri, surrounded by family. Rosa was born September 24, 1928 in Sedalia, Missouri to Bernie L. and Rose Mary Benware, then adopted at a young age by Elmer and Mary Elizabeth Wood.

After attending Sedalia Grade School she moved to Harrisonville where she continued education at Mt. Zion Schoolhouse. Rosa graduated from Harrisonville High School 1946.

On December 29, 1950 Rosa Lee was united in marriage to Walter Wesemann in Harrisonville, Missouri.

Rosa was employed as an LPN at the old Hospital in Harrisonville and at Dr. Green’s office for more than 30 years. After being a nurse she was a caretaker, with Walt, at Orient Cemetery in Harrisonville for 21 years until retiring to travel. Rosa was a member of First Baptist Church since she was 9 years old. She was a member of the Cass Regional Medical Center auxiliary where she volunteered in a gift shop for several years. Rosa enjoyed spending time with family, friends, bowling, and a special great-granddaughter Ava RosaLee.

Rosa will always be remembered for her never ending love she had for family and friends, generous contributions to many organizations and her joyful sense of humor.

Besides her parents, Rosa was preceded in death by her husband Clarence Walter Wesemann, her brothers Bob Benware, John Wood, Eddie Wood, Lowell Benware and Buster Wood.

Rosa is survived by brother Roy Benware, son William “Bill” Wesemann and wife Jeanie, former daughter in law Judy Wesemann all from Harrisonville, MO; four grandchildren; Nick (Ryan), Jessica (Rho’mel), Jeanette (Harold), Michelle (Samual); six great-grandchildren; Micheal, Christopher (Elvia), Johnathan, Jennifer, Mathew, Ava and other relatives with host of friends. .

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 20, 2021 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri with burial in the Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville.

Family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, November 19, 2021 at the funeral home.

Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or the American Cancer Society.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.
