Roy A. Mickelberry

Roy Allen Mickelberry of Urich Missouri was born January 26, 1934 at the home near Ballard, Missouri the son of Chester and Ella Marie Mickelberry. He departed this life on August 24, 2010 at Harrisonville Missouri at the age of 76 years 6 months and 28 days.
On February 4, 1953 Roy was united in marriage to Evelyn Lucille Page at Butler, Missouri. To this union of 57 years, 3 daughters were born, Dorothy Claiborne Smith of Ballard, MO, Peggy Stubblefield of Warsaw, MO, and Terry Bowman of Archie, MO.
Roy was a farmer and stockman all his life. Over the years he also worked at Club Garage in Kansas City, MO for 2 years and he worked in Harrisonville, MO at the Anaconda Plant for 3 years. He loved tractors and machinery or anything that had a motor. He enjoyed his cattle and his llamas. Some of his favorite pastimes were fishing and gardening and his family. He enjoyed watching the grandchildren play in their sports. During this summer, he watched his grandson pitching horseshoes in the World Tournament and great-grandchildren play summer ball. He enjoyed going to Arizona for the winters.
He was preceded in death by his father, Chester Mickelberry and mother, Ella Marie Drury Mickelberry and son-in-law, Robert (Bobby) Claiborne.
Roy is survived by his wife, Evelyn of the home; 3 daughters, Dorothy Claiborne Smith and husband Lucky, Peggy Stubblefield and husband David, and Terry Bowman and husband Glenn; 12 Grandchildren, Robbie and Rusty Claiborne wife Erin, C.J. Patrick husband Mike, Carla Stephens, Crystal Smith, Keri Hill husband James, Kristy Rowland husband Chris, Michael Lawrence, Keli Stubblefield, Amanda Milburn husband Will, Erika Myler husband Michael, and Michael Bowman; 24 great- grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Monday, August 30, 2010 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri with burial in th Garden City Cemetery, Garden City, Missouri.
