Sandra Kay Trundle

June 18, 1946 — February 4, 2021

Sandra Kay Trundle, 74, lifelong resident of Raytown, Missouri, was born June 18, 1946, in Kansas City, the daughter of Louie Roswell and Helen R. (Holloway) Trundle. She departed this life Thursday, February 4, 2021 at her home.

She was a 1964 Raytown High School graduate. She furthered her education at the University of Missouri-Kansas City where she earned her master’s degree and was awarded membership in Phi Kappa Phi, a selective, multidisciplinary honor society signifying excellence and distinction.

Sandra was employed as a French teacher for the Raytown C-2 School District, retiring in 2002 after 34 years in the district. She was passionate in her teaching of the French language and was an active member of the American Council of Teachers of Foreign Language (ACTFL), the American Association of Teachers of French (AATF), and the Foreign Language Associates of Missouri (FLAM). She was also a member Delta Kappa Gamma, a society of women educators, the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Raytown Retired School Personnel,and the Raytown Baptist Church. She enjoyed all things French, was an avid reader and a patroness of the arts.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents and her twin sister who died at birth.

She is survived by many close friends and students whom she adored.

Private burial will be in the Lone Jack Cemetery.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Lone Jack Cemetery on her birthday, June 18, 2021 at 10:30. All are invited to attend.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Raytown Educational Foundation and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
