Sharon Elaine Miller, of Garden City, Missouri was born September 13, 1944 in Freeman, Missouri the daughter of William Iris and Oma Irene (Rinker) Lacy. She departed this life on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 surrounded by love and family at the Kansas City Hospice House, Kansas City, Missouri at the age of 73 years and 13 days.

Sharon was employed as a dock worker for Western Electric in Lee's Summit, Missouri and later was a custodian at Sherwood School District in Creighton, Missouri for 7 years. She enjoyed going to Sonic and attend her grandchildren's sporting events. She loved her dog Daisy, being on the farm and watching the animals and cattle from the front porch. Sharon enjoyed playing the piano and had a love for music and dancing. She had an infectious smile for everyone she met.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene and Larry Lacy.

Sharon is survived by her husband, Joe Petty of the home; two sons, Kyle Miller and wife Debbie, West Line, Missouri; Greg Miller, Garden City, Missouri; a daughter, Cindy Burkit and husband Kenny of Garden City, Missouri; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; a brother, Lowell Lacy, Independence, Missouri; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri with burial in the Garden City Cemetery. Family received friends Monday, October 2, 2017 at the funeral home.

Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Kansas City Hospice House
Final arrangements entrusted to Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri.
