Steven "Steve" Cary Beneke

Steven "Steve" Cary Beneke of Peculiar, Missouri was born September 18, 1946 in Albert Lea, Minnesota the son of William C. and Beverly R. (Vandermate) Beneke. He departed this life on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at the VA Medical Center, Kansas City, Missouri at the age of 71 years, 3 months and 8 days.

On February 14, 1996, Steve was united in marriage to Curtisa Allene "Allie" Turpen in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Steve was a truck driver for MDZ Trucking in Shipshewana, Indiana. He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. Steve attended the Gospel Fellowship Church, Grandview, Missouri when he could, otherwise he was involved with the Cowboy Church on his radio in his truck. He enjoyed fishing and loved tinkering with stuff from small engine repair to old trucks, cars, tractors and race cars. If it wasn't running when it was brought to him, it was when he was done with it.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Courtney Nicole Roebuck.

Steve is survived by his wife, Allie Beneke of the home; four sons, Dale Batson and wife Pam, Florence, Texas, Terry Batson and wife Wanda, Huntsville, Texas, Bryan Batson and wife Laura, Lansing, Kansas, Roger Batson and wife Tina, Henderson, Nevada; 13 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 4 brothers, Randy Beneke, Auburn, California, Ken Beneke and wife Sue, San Jose, California, Kim Beneke and wife Donna, Louisville, Kentucky, Eldy Beneke and wife DeDe, Sedalia, Missouri; two sisters, Laurie Browning and husband Lester and Sue Griffin and husband Frank all of Trinton, Missouri; other relatives and many friends.

Celebration of Life Services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at the Gospel Fellowship, 13011 Grandview Road, Grandview, Missouri.

The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans and may be sent in care of the Dickey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 432, Harrisonville, Mo. 64701.
