Susan Frances Ryle

November 21, 1913 — October 5, 2008

Susan Frances Ryle, 94 yrs, 10 months and 14 days of Harrisonville, Mo, left this world to be with her Lord and Savior October 5, 2008 at the Rehabilitation Center of Raymore, Mo. She was born November 21, 1913, near Hardin (Morton) Missouri, daughter of John Elliot and Lillie Grace (Tabor) Hambright. She was a 1932 graduate of Harrisonville High School.
On March 16, 1943 Susan was united in marriage to Raymond S. Ryle.
Susan dedicated her life to Jesus Christ at the Grand River Baptist Church. She was a long time member of the Hickory Grove Free Will Baptist Church. While there, she was a Sunday School teacher and helped with other responsibilities in the church. Susan was the oldest member of the Faith Baptist Church of Raymore at time of death. Susan was a member of the Grand Hickory Extension Club. She was Secretary of the Bybee School District for many years. While Raymond was serving in WWII Susan worked at the Pratt & Whitney plant manufacturing airplanes for the War. When Raymond returned from service in 1945, she helped farm beside him on the Ryle Family Farm. In 1976, they received the Centennial Farm Award.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Samuel Ryle on December 2, 1997; twin daughters, Virginia Lou and Mary Sue Thomas; four sisters; her infant twin died at birth; Matilda Virginia; and Mary Kathryn Hambright; and Mrs. Elmer (Anna Louise) Jones.
She is survived by one brother, John Elliot Hambright, Jr.; a daughter, Shirley R. Ward and her husband Jerry of Raymore, Mo; three granddaughters, Shellie R. Arriaga and husband Ricardo, Raytown; Shelia R. Holt, Independence; Shana R. Garrie and husband Richard, Orlando, Fl.: four great-grandchildren, Faith, Hope and Jacob Garrie and Samuel Arriaga; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, October 9, 2008 at the Heartland Baptist Fellowship, Harrisonville, Missouri with burial Freeman Cemetery.
Family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice, Faith Baptist Church and or to the Heartland Baptist Fellowship.
