Susan Strickland

Susan Kay Strickland of Harrisonville, Missouri was born November 30, 1961in Huron, South Dakota the daughter of Paul Wayne and Pat (Morris) Diamond. She departed this life on Sunday, September 26, 2010 at her home near Harrisonville surrounded by her family at the age of 48 years, 9 months and 26 days.
On July 10, 1982, Susan was united in marriage to Randy Paul Strickland in Harrisonville, Missouri.
Susan was a rural mail carrier for the United States Postal Service for the past 20 years working out of the Harrisonville Post Office. She was a member of the Harrisonville Church of the Nazarene, Rural Letter Carrier Association and was an active participant in Relay for Life. Susan was a 1980 graduate of Hutchinson, Kansas High School and had attended Mid-America Nazarene College, Olathe, Kansas. She enjoyed doing needle point, reading and was active in all of her children?s activities. Susan had moved to Harrisonville in 1988. Susan was preceded in death by her sister, Cheryl Davis.
She is survived by her husband, Randy Strickland of the home; a son, Andrew Strickland of the home; two daughters, Cheryl Becker and husband, Jacob, Kansas City, Missouri; Jessica Strickland of the home; her parents, Paul and Pat Diamond, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; a brother, Rob Diamond, Longmont, Colorado; two sisters, Beth Harper, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Nancy Brewer, Ontario, Oregon; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at the Church of the Nazarene, Harrisonville, Missouri with burial in the Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville, Missouri.
