Thelma F. O'Bannon

Thelma Fern O'Bannon of Pleasant Hill, Missouri was born May 23, 1928 in Archie, Missouri the daughter of Harrison and Mary D. (Haggard) Rea. She departed this life on Monday, January 26, 2015 at her home at the age of 86 years, 8 months and 3 days.
On March 29, 1944, Thelma was united in marriage to Gene Floyd O'Bannon.
Thelma was a homemaker, and was employed as nurse at the Cass County Memorial Hospital, Harrisonville, Missouri and several nursing homes in the Cass County area and then retired from Marion Labs, Kansas City, Missouri. She enjoyed being with her family and raising two of her grandchildren, Crystal and David. Thelma had lived in East Lynne and Harrisonville, Missouri before moving to Pleasant Hill.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gene O'Bannon on January 1, 2007; a granddaughter, Janet Lee; three brothers, Bud, Merle and LaVern; three sisters, Lula, Eula, and Opal.
Thelma is survived by two daughters, Jeanetta and Anna; 4 grandchildren, DeAnna, Ray, Crystal and husband Gary, David and wife Kristina; 6 great-grandchildren, Ashlea, Colton, Austin, Collin, Noah and Gage; two great-great-grandchildren, Scarlett and Nathan; other relatives and friends.
No services scheduled. At her request, her body is being donated to Science at the University of Kansas Medical Center.
Family suggests memorial contributions to a food pantry of one's choice.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.
