Thomas Albert Holt

Thomas Albert Holt, 85, of Pleasant Hill, was born, October 24, 1934, in Holt, Missouri, the son of Andy Harden and Ann Kathryn (Dale) Holt. He departed this life Wednesday, April 8, 2020, at the St. Luke’s East Hospital, Lee’s Summit.
Tom was a 1952 Excelsior Springs High School graduate. He was a United States Army veteran.
On February 10, 1964, he was united in marriage to Gertrude Marie Holt in Crookston, Minnesota. She preceded him in death on September 20, 2012.
Tom was Superintendent for Rinus Plumbing in Raytown, the Midwest Plumbing Co. in Independence, and U.S. Engineering in Kansas City. He was a member of the Kansas City Plumbers Union Local #8. Tom enjoyed fishing and was an avid gardener.
Tom was also preceded in death by his parents; one son, Lee Jay Marcum in November 2011; his daughter Gretchen Bartko in October 2015; and one brother, Ted Holt.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Andy and Deborah Holt of Lone Tree, Colorado; nine grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one brother, Tony (and Lois) Holt of Excelsior Springs; one sister Karen Sue (and John) Means of Excelsior Springs; three special care-givers, Minnie Callaway, Gary Coe and Candace Smith, all of Pleasant Hill; other relatives and friends.
A private family service was held Tuesday, April 14, 2020. Reverend D. Kent Deubner officiate. Interment followed in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Casket bearers are Gary Coe, Richard Smedley, Candace Smith, Bill Wendell, David Wendell and Mark Guffey. Honorary casket bearers are Mollie Hogue and Jay Smith.
