Ty Gregory Rudder

Ty Gregory Rudder, 32, of Columbia, Missouri, formerly of Lee’s Summit, was born August 3, 1982, in Independence, Missouri. He departed this life Tuesday, February 3, 2015.
Ty was a 2001 Lee’s Summit High School graduate, and recently enrolled as a transfer student at the University of Missouri-Columbia to study photojournalism.
On April 27, 2006, he was united in marriage to Alisa Rethmeyer in Independence, Missouri. They later divorced. On September 24, 2014, he was united in marriage to Heather (Tilly) Robertson in Los Angeles, California.
Ty had been employed as a manager for Hy-Vee in Lee’s Summit, Rob Sight Ford, Babies R Us, and several bars and restaurants, including Applebee’s on Blue Ridge in Kansas City. He was full of energy, always ready for the next good time or adventure. His hobbies included football, photography, attending concerts, listening to music and collecting first edition books. He loved life and lived it on the edge. Ultimately, he could not find peace here and left us before his time. Ty was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Charles and Jean Carswell.
He is survived by his wife, Heather Robertson of Chicago, Illinois; ex-wife, Alisa Rudder of Lee’s Summit; two children Ronan Ty Rudder and Kieran Mae Rudder both of Lee’s Summit; Stepson Calvin Spencer Robertson of Chicago; his mother, Robin D. (Carswell) Roberts of Lee’s Summit; two brothers, Trent (and Sharin’) Rudder of Columbia and Levi Roberts of Santa Rosa, California; one sister Jensen Roberts of Raytown; niece Amaya Jean Roberts; Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and many friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 10, 2015, at the Stanley-Dickey Funeral Home, Pleasant Hill, Missouri. Elder Don Carlile will officiate. Cremation.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to his children Ronan and Kieran’s education funds which have been set up at Missouri Central Credit Union in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, or to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Donations may also be left at the funeral home.
