Mrs. Velma Lee Ayler, of Garden City, Missouri, was born January 29, 1931 in Lee?s Summit, Missouri the daughter of Alfred James and Pearl (Biller) Larrison. She departed this life Friday, October 10, 2008 at her home near Garden City at the age of 77 years, 9 months and 9 days.
On June 16, 1949, Velma was united in marriage to John Henry Ayler Jr. in Harrisonville, Missouri.
Velma was a homemaker. She was also an avid reader and great cook. She had lived on the farm near Garden City since 1957.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Peggy Jane Ayler and a sister, June Campbell.
She is survived by her husband, John Ayler Jr. of the home; a son, Michael E. Ayler, Fairway, Kansas; two daughters, Brenda J. Cantrell and husband Robert and Carolyn S. Shell all of Harrisonville, Missouri; a sister, Ruth Clardy, Springfield, Missouri; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri with burial in the Elm Springs Cemetery near Kingsville, Missouri.
