Verna Mills

With great sadness, Verna L. Mills, 72, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend passed peacefully and well loved at her home in Garden City, Missouri on Monday, April 24th; however, with her passing we rejoice in the life she lived. Throughout her life Verna lived with the purpose of powerful and unconditional love, unmatched humor, and an unforgettable personality.

While Verna has departed in physical form her life will live on through her husband of 57 years, Leonard Mills. Her adoring children: Jeff Mills and his wife Gayla, Brenda L. Mills, Tina Walton and her husband Brian, Chrystal Kimbrough and her husband Kendal, and Johnna Mueller and her husband Lance. Verna is also survived and will be loved and deeply missed by three sisters, Bonnie Siebrecht and husband Hud, June Withers and husband Luther, and Linda I. Guess and husband Leslie; six grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends that cherished her dearly. Sadly, Verna was preceded in death by her Mother and father, brother, Delbert Kendrick, sister, Sue Stutzman, and treasured grandson, Jacob Mills.

Verna lived an honest, beautiful, humorous, and meaningful life. The love and devotion she carried for her husband, family, and the Lord never wavered. Her laughter, spunk, and fun loving attitude could be seen, heard, and appreciated for miles around. Throughout her life, Verna enjoyed traveling with and going on various adventures with her husband, loving on her children, and playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking, playing cards, and enjoying the beauty of a simple life. The sincerity of her love, the honestly of her humor, and her strong will, will never be forgotten.

Funeral services were held Saturday, April 29, 2017 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri.

The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to Serenity Hospice.
