Wilbert Bryant

March 17, 1942 — April 1, 2014

Wilbert Bryant, 72, of Freeman, Missouri was born on March 17, 1942 in Stockton, Missouri the son of Donald Morton and Alma Glendola (Hoerning) Bryant. In March, Wilbert was diagnosed with acute leukemia. On Tuesday, April 1, 2014 he passed away at his home surrounded by lots of family and friends.

On July 23, 1960, Wilbert married the love of his life, Patsy Ann Simmons in Miami, Oklahoma. To this union three children were born: Teresa, Russell and Melissa.

Wilbert attended school in Stockton, Missouri and worked at the Chevrolet garage for several years. Later he moved to Kansas City area where he worked at a high rise apartment building as a painter for several years. He retired in 1996 due to being injured on the job and had to retire early.

Wilbert pastored a church for several years and he truly loved the Lord. His greatest desire was to see many souls saved and to be able to leave this world knowing his family would join him in heaven some day.

Wilbert loved to fish as long as he was catching the fish. BUT, if he wasnt catching fish or if the huge fish got off his line just as he got it to the boat, well..if you are ever out fishing and find a fishing pole in the bottom of the lake, there is a great possibility that you have found one of Wilberts fishing poles.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Ricky Birch; lots of aunts and uncles.

Wilbert is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patsy A. Bryant of the home; a son, Russell Bryant and wife Vickie, Pleasant Hill, Missouri; two daughters, Teresa Balducci and husband Leonard, Freeman, Missouri, Melissa Mitchell and husband Scott, Belton, Missouri; 15 grandchildren, Seth, Shaun, Anthony, Joshua, Michael, Rusdon, Valene, Megan, Colleen, Andrea, Tracy, Nichole, Michelle, Andrea and Amanda; 24 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Billy D. Bryant, Greenfield, Missouri, Jerry Bryant, Stockton, Missouri; two sisters, Anna Mae Lebow, Belton, Missouri; Carolyn Borden, Independence, Missouri; other relatives and many friends.
