Mrs. Willetta Louise Towerton, of Harrisonville, Missouri, was born March 20, 1926 in Wichita, Kansas, the daughter of Samuel and Edna (Ishom) Symons. She departed this life Wednesday, July 6, 2005, Crown Care Center, Harrisonville, at the age of 79 years, 3 months and 16 days.
On December 3, 1947, Willetta was united in marriage to Kellis ""Kelly"" Leon Towerton in Wichita, Kansas.
Willetta was employed as a receiving inspector for Bendix, Kansas City, Missouri until her retirement in 1989. She attended the First Baptist Church, Harrisonville and was a member and Past Matron of the Bayard Chapter #179 Order of the Easter Star, Business Professional Women's, Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem #26 all of Harrisonville, Daughter's of the American Revolution and was an avid bowler and bowled in many leagues. Willetta had lived in Kansas City before moving to Harrisonville in 1969.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kelly Towerton on February 13, 2005 and a brother, Sam Symons.
She is survived by two sons, Jim L. Towerton, Wichita, Kansas and Tom Towerton; other relatives and friends.
Cremation. A memorial service will be held 1:30 p.m., Saturday, July 16, 2005 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville with an Eastern Star Service at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service.
Family suggets memorial contributions may be made to the Bayard Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, Harrisonville, MO.
