William 'Bill' Wayman

February 11, 1945 — November 27, 2016

William Bill McCarty Wayman was born during WWII on February 11, 1945 in Norfolk, Virginia. He was the son of William C. and Ida Bernice Wayman. Shortly after his birth, his family moved to a farm in Peculiar, MO. He departed this life at home on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at the age of 71 years, 9 months and 16 days.

Bill graduated from Harrisonville High School. He attended college in Warrensburg earning a degree in criminal justice. He worked full time as a Harrisonville police officer while obtaining his degree.

Bill married his high school sweetheart, Mary Alice Davis, on May 26, 1966. He then attended Missouri State Patrol Academy, graduating number one in his class, and worked for the highway patrol for five years. When he left the patrol he worked as a dock supervisor for 36 years before he retired.

Bill was a loving son, brother, husband, father, uncle, grandpa and friend; who always put his family first. He was quite the prankster and loved to tease people. He could be found hunting, fishing, gardening or spending time with his loved ones. He was so proud of his children and grandchildren, and was eager to brag about them to anyone who would listen! He had a big heart and would help anyone, anywhere, anytime. Bill touched the lives of those that were honored to know him. He will be remembered for being compassionate, selfless, giving, supportive, and always being right. :)

Bill is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary A. Wayman; a sister, Phyllis Stallings and husband Al, Columbia, Missouri; a daughter, Tracy Rasmussen, Greenwood, Missouri; a son, Mark Wayman and wife Lisa, Camdenton, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Tyler, Nick, Zach, Katie, Abby, Maggie, and Carly; other relatives and many friends.

Cremation. A Celebration of Life Service was held Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at The Summit Church, 114 SE Douglas, Lee's Summit, MO 64063.
