William Brady Todd

William Brady ?Bill? Todd of Harrisonville, Missouri was born January 19, 1917 in Harrisonville the son of A.L. and Elizabeth Gertrude (Brown) Todd Sr. He departed this life on Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at Kansas City Hospice House, Kansas City, Missouri at the age of 93 years, 7 months and 25 days.
On January 19, 1942 Bill was united in marriage to Wanda Marie Stephens in Butler, Missouri.
Bill was a truck driver for Mid-America Freight in Kansas City until his retirement on January 15, 1979. Earlier he was employed at Jack Cooper Transport. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Cass Masonic Lodge #147 A.F. & A.M., Harrisonville, and was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. Bill attended Walnut Grove rural school and graduated from Harrisonville High School. He was a lifelong area resident and although born with club feet, after correction and 5 years in braces, never let that keep him from anything he loved. He enjoyed his family, the outdoors, hunting and fishing. Bill was a practical joker, whether the joke was played on him or by him. He will be remembered as a baseball player, cowboy, trapper, farmer, soldier, carpenter, truck driver, the morning Bunger Garage group, son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather and friend.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Jon Bremer; three brothers, Howard, Silas and A.L. Todd Jr., a sister, Loretta Long.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Todd of the home; his daughter, Darlys Bremer, Peculiar, Missouri two grandchildren, Dana Bremer, Peculiar, Missouri, David Bremer and wife, Diane Jayne, Dixon, Iowa; three great-grandchildren, Brady, Kirsten and Jon; a great-great-grandson, Connor; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, September 18, 2010 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri with burial in the Orient Cemetery with military honors.
