William F. Gray

William Franklin (Bill) Gray, of Harrisonville, Missouri, was born June 4, 1932 in Adamson, Oklahoma the son of Mike and Julia (Cirar’) Gray. He departed this life on Tuesday, August 4, 2014 at the Golden Years Care Services, Harrisonville at the age of 83 years and 2 months.
On December 3, 1950, Bill was united in marriage to Alpha Rhea Cunningham in Durant, Oklahoma.
Bill was a Federal Civil Service employee serving as Chief of Supply for 39 years retiring in 1989. He also served in the Air Force Reserve retiring as a Major. He was a member of the VFW Post #4409, Hurley Lee Spicer American Legion Post #42, Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church all of Harrisonville, Missouri, the Missouri Polled Hereford Association and the Reserve Officers Association. Bill lived in Belle Chasse, Louisiana for 19 years before moving to Harrisonville in 1984.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Alpha Gray on December 27, 2006 and a brother, Robert Gray.
Bill is survived by a son, William Dean (Billy Dean) Gray and wife Christine, Phoenix, Arizona; two daughters, Sandi Fleming and husband Glenn and Robin G. Zander all of Belle Chasse, Louisiana; six grandchildren, Allyson, Amy, Aubrey, Ariel, Matthew and Kristina; two great-granddaughters, Maggie and Caroline; a sister, Joyce Brandt, Sallisaw, Oklahoma; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, August 8, 2015 at the Browns Funeral Service, Coalgate, Oklahoma with burial in the Cairo Cemetery, Cairo, Oklahoma.
Local arrangements are under the direction of the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.
