William R. 'Bill' Hedrick

William Richard “Bill” Hedrick of Harrisonville, Missouri was born November 27, 1928 in Harrisonville the son of William Nelson and Mildred Ottilla (Holloway) Hedrick. He departed this life on Friday, December 28, 2012 at Cass Regional Medical Center, Harrisonville at the age of 84 years, 1 month and 1 day.
On August 12, 1950, Bill was united in marriage to Helen Aline Stephens in Bentonville, Arkansas.
Bill was employed as a nail mill operator for Armco Steel, Kansas City, Missouri until his retirement. He was an Army veteran serving as Sergeant in the Occupation of Japan. Bill was an avid golfer and a member of the Harrisonville Sand Greens Golf Club. He was a lifelong area resident and a 1946 graduate of Harrisonville High School.
Besides his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his son, William N. Hedrick on May 18, 1991.
Bill is survived by his wife, Helen A. Hedrick of the home; a son Stephen L. Hedrick, Lakeland, Florida; granddaughter, Sarah Hedrick and grandson, Seth Hedrick; a step-brother, Harold Dean Hammontree, Harrisonville, Missouri; a step-sister, Velma Beckerdite, Harrisonville, Missouri; other relatives and a host of friends.
Graveside services were held Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at the Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville, Missouri.
Family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
