Winnie Nona Bay

Mrs. Winnie Nona Bay of Harrisonville, Missouri was born January 11, 1917 in Hutton Valley, Missouri the daughter of Jesse Alonzo and Cynthia Cordilia (Lee) Bay. She departed this life on Saturday, May 2, 2009 surrounded by her family at her home in Harrisonville at the age of 92 years, 3 months and 21 days. On January 2, 1934, Winnie was united in marriage to Henry Arthur Bay in Mountain View, Missouri. Winnie was employed as a packer for Swift & Company in Kansas City, Kansas until her retirement in 1980. She was a member of the Overland Park Assembly of God Church, Overland Park, Kansas. She enjoyed her family, grandchildren, garden, flowers, quilting and her many quilts will be a lasting memory for her family. Winnie had lived in Kansas City, Missouri and Overland Park before moving to Harrisonville in 1985.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry on June 2, 1973, a son, Frank E. ?Sonny? Bay on December 18, 2003; a daughter, ViDean Hartley on December 30, 1999; a son-in-law, Chester Dowd; 2 brothers, Archie and Arlie Evins; two sisters, Minnie Noble and Marie Bay. She is survived by a son Jerriel Bay and wife, Debbie, Lawtey, Florida; two daughters, Wanda Dowd, Holiday Island, Arkansas, Chris Holland and husband, Dave, Harrisonville, Missouri; a daughter-in-law, Shirley Bay, Raymore, Missouri; thirteen grandchildren; twenty six, great-grandchildren; fifteen great-great-grandchildren; a special friend, Ray Karstetter, Spring Hill, Kansas; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri with burial at Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville, Missouri.
The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to Grace Hospice.
