Alice Martin

Alice B. Martin, of Harrisonville, Missouri, was born July 20, 1916 in Jefferson City, Missouri, the daughter of Henry Sebastian and Barbara Pauline (Meyer) Beck. She departed this life Monday, September 26, 2005, Golden Years Care Services, Harrisonville at the age of 89 years, 2 months and 6 days.
On May 29, 1941, Alice was united in marriage to Halbert ""Hal"" Rhodes Martin in Jefferson City, Missouri.
Alice was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Harrisonville, American Legion Auxiliary and was Past Chapeau of the Forty and Eight, and a Pink Lady at the Cass Medical Center Auxiliary where she served as Past President and Secretary. Alice was a volunteer at the Cass County Health Department with the Well Baby Clinic and for the Visiting Nurses Association for Cass County. She had moved to Harrisonville in 1957. Alice loved to do yard work, quilting and her cats.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hal Martin on June 21, 1985; three brothers, Floyd, Lawrence and Kenneth Beck; two sisters, Pauline Buehner and Frances Kelly.
She is survived by two sons, Joe Martin and wife Peggy, Harrisonville, Missouri, Jim Martin and wife Linda, Aurora, Missouri; a daughter, Judy Campion and husband Richard, El Paso, Texas; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, September 29, 2005 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville with burial in the Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville. Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the St. Judes Hospital or Childrens Mercy Hospital Oncology Department.
