Alice Ohan

Mrs. Alice Anna ""Ann"" Ohan, of Harrisonville, Missouri, was born June 3, 1921 in Sweet Springs, Missouri, the daughter of Johann Herman and Marie Josephine (Ehlers) Stuerke. She departed this life Friday, April 27, 2007, St. Joseph Medical Center, Kansas City, Missouri at the age of 85 years, 10 months and 24 days.
On July 18, 1945, Ann was united in marriage to Jacob Ohan in San Diego, California.
Ann was a homemaker and along with her husband, Jake, owned and operated Jake & Ann's Tavern in Garden City, Missouri from 1971 until 1980. She was of the Lutheran Faith. Ann was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and loved to dance, play bingo, cards and computer games. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her friends. Ann had lived in Seattle, Washington before moving to Garden City in 1971 and then to Harrisonville in 1980.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob on April 17, 1996; five brothers, Leonard, Clarence, Marvin, Hugo and Oscar Stuerke; a sister, Mabel and an infant sister, Esther.
She is survived by a son, Russell Ohan, Kansas City, Missouri; three daughters, Patricia Halvorsen, Charlotte, North Carolina, Janice Curtis, Lee's Summit, Missouri, Cheryl Adair, Blue Springs, Missouri; five grandchildren, David, Jason, Justin, Joshua and Amy; two great-grandchildren, Henry, Samuel and a soon to be born great-grandson; three brothers, Edwin Stuerke, Schulenberg, Texas, Elmer Stuerke, Higginsville, Missouri, Wilbur Stuerke, Laurie, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Cremation. A memorial service was held Monday, April 30, 2007 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.
