Alvin was the 3rd Son born to Guy Dorven and Georgia Marie (Brown) Cumpton. He was born in Henry County, the 1st child to be born in a hospital. He was raised in Dayton, MO. He attended 1st-8th grade at Dayton #25 School. He attended high school at Archie R-5 and graduated in May of 1967. He was a member of the local FFA at Archie. After graduating he started working on the family farm trucking and hauling. Alvin and his youngest brother John began farming and cattle production in 1973. They set up Cumpton Brothers farm together in 1976.
Alvin was married to Carolyn Jean Thomas 10-31-1970 from this union came 2 sons, Calvin Lee Cumpton and Craig Elton Cumpton.
Alvin met his soulmate Patricia Louise Agnew. They were married on 5-23-1981 in New Franklin, MO. They had a daughter, Ashley Leigh Cumpton.
He is preceded in death by his parents Guy Dorven & Georgia Cumpton, Father-in-Law Jim Agnew, brother’s Ivan Cumpton and Guy Herman Cumpton and sister-in-law Pamela Cumpton.
He is survived by his wife Patricia Cumpton of the home. Three Children, Son Calvin Cumpton (Renee) of Garden City, MO; son Craig Cumpton (Stephanie) of Lee's Summit, MO; daughter Ashley Cumpton of St. Joseph, MO. Six Grandchildren Tyler Cumpton of Archie, MO; Lacy Cota (Toribio) of Archie, MO ; Cheyenne Cumpton of Harrisonville, MO; Lucas Cumpton (Hannah) of Adrian, MO; Dalton Cumpton of Holden, MO; and Katie Cumpton of Lee’s Summit, MO. 8 Great Grandchildren Sofia, Giovani, Cooper, Colton, Elyzabeth, Lila, Andres and Casen. Mother-in-law Bonnie Agnew of Fayette, MO; Sister-in-law Sharon Cumpton of Garden City, MO; brother Paul (Marge) Cumpton of Omaha, Nebraska; brother John (Connie) Cumpton of Garden City, MO; plus many loving nieces and nephews, along with several great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at Heart of Life Church, Garden City, Missouri.
Funeral Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 29, 2024 at Heart of Life Church, Garden City, Missouri with interment at Dayton Cemetery, Garden City, Missouri.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to be made to Dayton Community Church Memorial Fund, and send in care to Dickey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 432, Harrisonville, Missouri 64701.
