Angela Renee Funderburk

January 18, 1972 — February 29, 2016

Angela Renee’ Funderburk was born January 18, 1972, and passed from this life as she leaped into heaven on February 29, 2016.
Angela is a Jesus follower who truly loved people. Laughing, crying, learning, and forgiving with us, she is a beautiful soul who loved as a daughter, sister, aunt, and friend! If she was with you, then you never felt alone. From the big moments like special family vacations to the mundane details of everyday life, Angela was with us heart and soul.
Angie was remarkably generous with her life. Whether loving little boys and girls without parents by serving as a missionary with the Oklahoma Baptist Children’s Home; or developing leadership in young men and women by serving as an administrative assistant with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes; or caring for hurting people through her account analyst position with SERC physical therapy; Angela always gave more than she took.
She walked with a quiet strength that allowed her to listen more than speak, to be content rather than want, and to enjoy life even in struggles. Angie never spoke poorly about anyone. She would simply say, “We have to see them through eyes of God’s grace.” Her words and her life were the consistent evidence that she knew God saw her in that way. She knew God loved her perfectly, had forgiven her completely, and had empowered her uniquely for a mission to love the world like Jesus loves the world.
Angela is survived by her parents, Rev. Charles and Ginger Funderburk of the home; a brother, Dr. Jeff Funderburk and his wife Jennifer of Harrisonville, Missouri; two nieces, Whitney Fox and her husband Derek, and Kayla Funderburk; a nephew, Nic Funderburk; other relatives and many friends.
