Anthony “Tony” Martinez Lopez of Garden City, Missouri was born July 8, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois the son of Mary Noceda Martinez. He departed this life on Friday, December 24, 2021 at his home surrounded by love and family at the age of 77 years, 5 months and 16 days.
On August 1, 1964, Tony was united in marriage to Sandra Kay Collier in Chicago, Illinois.
Tony was employed in the maintenance department for several hospitals and nursing homes for many years. He was a member of the New Covenant Fellowship, Garden City, Missouri for over 30 years. Tony loved to give to the scholarship fund at the Training Center Christian School to help children to attend school and get a Christian education. He and Sandra loved to travel on short trips to see historical places and spending time with his family and friends.
Besides his mother, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Angela Sixto, Teresa Noceda and Zeferino Noceda.
Tony is survived by his wife, Sandra K. Lopez of the home; 5 children, Chris Burton and husband Steve, Archie, Missouri, Marcy Cauthon and husband Paul, Robin Benge and husband Rich all of Lee's Summit, Missouri, Mark Lopez and wife Corrie, Garden City, Missouri, Leann Woods and spouse Alicia, Laurie, Missouri; 10 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; a brother, Peter Noceda, Chicago, Illinois; other relatives and friends.
Cremation. A Celebration of Life Service will be 3:00 p.m., Sunday, January 2, 2022 at the New Covenant Fellowship, 30815 State Route F, Garden City, Missouri.
A Visitation with a meal will be 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m., Sunday, January 2, 2022 at the church.
Family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Training Center Christian School Scholarship Fund.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.
