Betty Sue Kuntz

Betty Sue Kuntz, of Harrisonville, Missouri, departed this life on May 11, 2026, at the age of 91 years. She was born on May 2, 1935, in Van Buren, Arkansas, the daughter of Thomas and Rosa Cates.

On February 12, 1954, Betty was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Lee Kuntz. Together they shared many loving years of marriage, building a life centered around faith, family, and devotion to one another.

Betty was a woman with a vibrant personality who never met a stranger. She loved playing the piano, sewing, and visiting with anyone who would sit and talk awhile. She especially enjoyed giving people a hard time and keeping those around her laughing. Above all else, Betty treasured time spent with her family. Her faith was the foundation of her life. She loved reading her Bible and was known by many as a true prayer warrior who faithfully prayed for those she loved.

She will be remembered for her strong faith, loving heart, quick wit, and the joy she brought to those around her. Betty’s legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family and faith will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Lee Kuntz; a son, Robert Kuntz, on October 19, 2016; two sisters, Anne Thompson and Jean Cusick.; and one brother, Norman Cates.

Betty is survived by her three children, Sharon Foster and husband Steve of Omaha, Nebraska, Jack Kuntz, and Debra Kuntz, both of Harrisonville, Missouri; her daughter-in-law, Mary Kuntz of Urich, Missouri; her brother, Thomas Cates of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; 10 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; along with other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be held 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 15, 2026 at Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri

Funeral Service will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 15, 2026 at Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri with interment at Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville, Missouri.
