Beverly M. Dorrell

Beverly Maxine Dorrell of Garden City, Missouri was born September 8, 1935 in Kansas City, Missouri the daughter of Madison and Mildred Redpath. She departed this life on Sunday, February 17, 2019 at the Golden Years Care Services surrounded by love and family at the age of 83 years, 5 months and 9 days.

On April 12, 1974, Beverly was united in marriage to Arthur “Art” Donald Dorrell in Blue Springs, Missouri.

Beverly was employed as a cook for Dunsworth Estates Nursing Home, Harrisonville, Missouri. She had also worked at the Calvin Company and Wilcox Electric both of Kansas City and Tortell in Grandview, Missouri. Beverly was a member of the New Covenant Fellowship, Garden City. She loved to sew, cook, read and going to garage sales. Beverly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Donald Shepard; a brother, Dewey K. Redpath and a sister, Dorothy M. Buinger.

Beverly is survived by her husband Art Dorrell of the home; two children, Sheila Carver and husband Ernest, Ft. Smith, Arkansas, Robert Shepard and wife Debra, Deepwater, Missouri; two step-children, Donis Solberg, Liberty, Missouri, Ronald E. Dorrell, Kansas City, Missouri; 8 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

Cremation. A Celebration of Life Service was held Saturday, March 2, 2019 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri with inurnment in the Garden City Cemetery following the service.

Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Serenity Care Hospice, Harrisonville, Missouri.
