Bonnie Ford

October 4, 1931 — December 27, 2012

Bonnie Ford, 81, a long-time resident of the Adrian area, died on December 27, 2012 at Crown Care Center. Born in Bates County, MO to Ben and Ellen McCullough, she attended schools in Butler and Adrian, MO. She married Douglas Lee Ford on September 14, 1947 and was married to him for 56 years until his death in September 2003. She was then married to Wm. F. Steiner from 2005 until his death in November 2009.
After giving birth to nine children, and her youngest child being three months old, Bonnie began her nursing career in Harrisonville at Cass Memorial Hospital and for Dr. Barger. While attending nursing school, she worked for Dr. Ronald and Dr. Luter in Butler, MO and the Bates County Memorial Hospital. She completed her Licensed Practical Nursing degree in 1968. Throughout her nursing career, her heart and cherished memory of nursing was the opening of the new facility called Camden Health Center in Harrisonville where she worked until she retired in 1991. Bonnie was a natural born nurse and when she came to reside at the Crown Care Center, it was a comfort to her and her children to know that some of the staff had worked with and been trained by her while working at Camden. They knew how Bonnie cared for her patients and they in return gave the same special care to Bonnie. It was a blessing for her children to witness that she had the very best nursing care that anyone could give.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, three siblings at their birth, four brothers, Jack, Joe, West, and Frank; one Sister, Maxine; a granddaughter, Jennifer Dyke; and a son-in-law, Patrick Hyatt
