Captain David A. Rodgers

David Allen Rodgers of Harrisonville, Missouri was born July 1, 1972 in Warrensburg, Missouri the son of Jerry Allen and Wilma Louise (Garrett) Rodgers. He departed this life on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at his home surrounded by love and family at the age of 50 years, 9 months and 10 days. 

On September 8, 2001 David was united in marriage to Christine Louise Wilson in Harrisonville, Missouri.

David was employed for the past 25 years as a deputy sheriff for the Cass County Sheriff’s Office reaching the rank of Captain before his retirement. He was a man of many talents. His main talent was taking care of his family and serving the citizens of Cass County with pride, duty, and obligation. David was a 1990 graduate of Oak Grove, Missouri High School and had moved to Harrisonville in 1997.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry. 

David is survived by his wife, Christine Rodgers of the home; a son Reznor Barnes, Harrisonville, Missouri; three daughters, Andrea Rodgers and Tina Rodgers both of Independence, Missouri, Serenity Rodgers, Harrisonville, Missouri; two twin grand-daughters, Brielle and Raylee  Rodgers; his mother, Wilma Rodgers, Oak Grove, Missouri; his brother, Richard Rodgers, Oak Grove, Missouri; other relatives and a host of friends. 

A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, April 16, 2023 at Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.

Final Honors will be given at Cass County Justice Center, Harrisonville, Missouri after the visitation.

Memorial contributions may be made to Sarah Cannon Cancer Center and may be sent in care of Dickey Funeral Home, P.O. Box, Harrisonville, Missouri.
