Cara Wilma Anderson

Cara Wilma Anderson of Adrian, Missouri formerly of Harrisonville, Missouri was born October 2, 1917 in Freeman, Missouri the daughter of George Lee and Ollie May (Franse) Thomas.  She departed this life on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at Medicalodge of Butler, Butler, Missouri at the age of 106 years and 9 days.

On June 15, 1941 Cara Wilma was united in marriage to Harold Kenneth Anderson in Malta Bend, Missouri.

Cara Wilma was a homemaker and a member of the Grand River Baptist Church and Harrisonville Senior Citizens. She liked to quilt and especially enjoyed playing cards with her friends. Cara Wilma and Harold enjoyed traveling on bus tours seeing the sites across the United States. She was a lifelong Cass County resident until 2014 when she moved to Adrian, Missouri.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold on May 8, 2015; her grandson, Josh Anderson; a son-in-law, Leroy Lawson, a brother, Hayward Thomas; 4 sisters, Alice Davis, Opal Butler, Lillian Thomas and Sally Scherzer.

She is survived by her 5 children, Gayle Lawson, Archie, Missouri; Kenneth Wayne Anderson (Millie), Clinton, Missouri, Walter Lee Anderson (Merry), Harrisonville, Missouri, Kay Terry (Phil), Clinton, Missouri, Gerald Anderson, Adrian, Missouri; 11 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 14, 2023 at Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri with internment at Freeman Cemetery, Freeman, Missouri.

Visitation will be held 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 14, 2023 at Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.
