Carol T. Nesbitt-Higgs

September 24, 1943 — July 2, 2019

Carol Theresa Nesbitt-Higgs of Harrisonville, Missouri was born September 24, 1943 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania the daughter of Albert A. and Iona Ruth (Smith) Nesbitt. She departed this life on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at the St. Luke’s Hospice House, Kansas City, Missouri at the age of 75 years, 9 months and 8 days.

Carol was a loving and kind soul. She never passed up the opportunity to speak to anyone that happened to walk into her range of vision. She would introduce herself and carry on so many conversations which all ended in either a loving hug or a warm pat on the face and shoulder with her generous smile and laughter to follow. She was always giving to those in need and regardless of what money she did or didn't have, she was always giving to those individuals in need on the numerous street corners and sidewalks of Kansas City and the cities we would visit in Missouri. Her love for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren was always at the forefront of her conversations. There wasn't a day that went by where she wasn't speaking of her love for us all. Every evening she would lie in bed reciting her rosary and praying for her family and those that may need help to find their faith. Her favorite pastime was grocery shopping and visiting the many expeditions and events that were going on every weekend in Kansas City and the surrounding areas. She held the love of the many doctors and nurses she encountered during her long haul of health issues for the last five years of her life. She struggled, but she fought and was a true warrior! Her Spirit has always remained strong but in the end, it was her body that could not continue on. She will be continuously loved and sorely missed by all that have come into contact with her during her time on this planet. God has granted her the wings that she surely earned - may she soar high and long as she watches over her children from the Heavens!

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Carol is survived by 10 children, Lee Danforth III, Katy, Texas, Michael Danforth, Galveston, Texas, Cheryl Wills, Sunrise Beach, Missouri, Kevin Danforth, Upland, California, Carol Treccariche, Raytown, Missouri, Allan Danforth, Kansas City, Missouri, Glenn Danforth, Spring, Texas, Kimberly Anderson, Harrisonville, Missouri, Jamie Higgs, San Diego, California, James Higgs Jr, Boston, Massachusetts; 20 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; two brothers, James Nesbitt, Putnam, Connecticut, David Mura, Point Blank, Texas; other relatives and many friends.
