Ret. MSgt. Charles Richard Brown, of Belton, Missouri, was born May 24, 1932 in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of James Henry and Helen (Fisher) Brown. He departed this life Wednesday, December 21, 2005 at the Olathe Medical Center, Olathe, Kansas at the age of 73 years, 6 months and 27 days.
On June 15, 1957, Charles was united in marriage to Maureen Rubie in Scunthorpe, England.
Charles was a Master Sergeant of the Air Force until his retirement on May 22, 1978 and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. After his retirement, he was employed as an inspector for Honeywell, Kansas City, Missouri since 1980. He was a member of the Belton Presbyterian Church and moved to Belton in 1973.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Maureen Brown on November 13, 1997; a son, Charles Richard Brown Jr. on September 5, 1989 and a brother, Robert Brown.
He is survived by a son, Mark R. Brown and wife Lynne, Archie, Missouri; a daughter, Kathleen Brown, Sedalia, Missouri; three grandchildren, Cody R. Brown and his wife Amber, Justin W. Brown and Zachary J. Brown; two sisters, Lorraine Marzi, Garfield Heights, Ohio, Helen Henry, Lodi, Ohio; three brothers, Don Brown, Eastlake, Ohio, Norman Brown, Lyndhurst, Ohio, Gerald Brown, Mansfield, Ohio; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, December 29, 2005 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri with burial in the Belton Cemetery, Belton, Missouri.
