Charles (Chuck) Huppe, of Drexel, Missouri was born on November 16, 1930 in Kansas City, Missouri the son of Joseph Augustine and Isabelle Gertrude (Shaffer) Huppe. He departed this life Friday, July 3, 2009 at his home near Drexel at the age of 78 years, 7 months and 17 days.
On June 19, 1971, Chuck was united in marriage to Kathleen Kelly in Kansas City, Missouri. She preceded him in death.
Chuck lived in the Kansas City area for 41 years, where he graduated from Rockhurst College in 1951. He later moved to rural Drexel, Missouri in 1970 and resided there until his death. Chuck owned Chafin Surgical Services where he sold, crafted and repaired surgical instruments for nine Kansas City hospitals. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church of Harrisonville, as well as the Knights of Columbus and was an Army veteran. His greatest love was his Catholic faith, his farm, hunting and fishing. His ponds were enjoyed and shared with his many relatives and friends. Chuck was a very loving, kind, thoughtful, generous person with his time, money and food (especially fruits and vegetables that he grew).
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by; three brothers, Joseph, Robert and John, and his sister Mary Beth (Anderson) Muller.
He is survived by two sisters-in-law, Mary Kay Huppe and Retha Huppe, and many nephews and nieces, as well as his dear friends Carol Mills and Barbara Elliott.
Funeral Mass was held Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Harrisonville, Missouri.
Graveside service was held Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Kansas City, Missouri.
