Charles E. "CE" Sliffe

Charles Earl Sliffe, born July 26,, 1941 In Harrisonville, Mo, passed away, Saturday, May 17, 2025. Charles, often also know as Charlie, or CE, grew up on the family farm east of Archie. He attended Archie schools, graduating in 1959. He then went on to serve in the US Navy from 1961-1966. He loved his time on the Navy ship, seeing parts of the world a little country boy could only imagine. He also made several lifetime friends while doing his duty for the Navy.

Charlie is survived by his wife, Karen Sliffe, two daughters, Pam Forst, and husband Bryan, Grandsons, Brett Simmons, and wife Brittany, Ryan Gartman, Jayd Forst, and 5 Great-Grandchildren. Tracie Knight, and husband Todd, and Grandson, Trevor Knight.

Charlie and Karen both were employed at Western Electric in Lee’s Summit, Mo, which was later to become AT&T. Many lifelong friends were also made during these years at their job. They retired together after 30 years of service in 1990. Then, life really began. Charlie and Karen decided they wanted to travel, and travel they did. Hawaii, Alaskan cruises, Costa Rica, Austrailia, Spain, and even visiting the Holy Land in Isreal. They enjoyed every trip. After they saw everything they wanted to see, they decided to become “Snow Birds.” They spent every winter in LaFeria, Texas, purchasing a mobile home in an elderly park. They loved being with friends, going out to eat, and shopping in Mexico.

One of Charlie’s lifelong passions was his horses. He raised, trained, and trail rode many horses, passing this love to his daughter, Tracie, who most often rode with him. He went on several riding trips to Eminence, Mo and he loved riding out in Colorado.

Charlie loved life and will be forever missed.
