Walter Wesemann of Harrisonville, Missouri was born January 9, 1926 near Archie, Missouri the son of George William and Grace Mae (Babcock) Wesemann. He departed this life on Friday, February 17, 2012 at Crown Care Center, Harrisonville at the age of 86 years, 1 month and 8 days.
On December 29, 1950 Walt was united in marriage to Rosa Lee Wood in Harrisonville.
Walt was employed as an assembler for General Motors Leeds Plant, Kansas City, Missouri until his retirement in 1977. After his retirement Walt and Rose Lee became the caretakers of Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville for 21years until their retirement. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Harrisonville, the UAW Local #93, Kansas City, Missouri and was an Army Air Force veteran of WWII. Walt enjoyed his family and grandchildren, bowling, fishing and being outdoors. He will be remembered for his sweetness and gentle disposition. Walt was a lifelong area resident and was a 1944 graduate of Archie High School.
Besides his parents, Walt was preceded in death by three brothers, Ed, Bill and George; his sister, Edith Esterla.
Walt is survived by his wife, Rosa Lee Wesemann of the home; his son, William “Bill” Wesemann and wife, Jeanie, Harrisonville, Missouri; four grandchildren, Nicholas, Jessica, Jeannette and Michelle; five great-grandchildren; other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri. Burial is in the Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville, Missouri.
