Dale Vertoe McClintock, Sr., 88, lifelong resident of Pleasant Hill, was born, July 31, 1930, in Lone Jack, the son of Guy and Frances (Clark) McClintock. He departed this life, Tuesday, April 2, 2019, at the Crown Care Center in Harrisonville surrounded with love and family.
Dale was a 1948 Pleasant Hill High School graduate and proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1948 to 1952.
On May 6, 1953, Dale was united in marriage to Alice Bates in Harrisonville. To this union four children, Cheryl, Dale Jr., Cathy, and Carrie were born. They later divorced.
Dale owned and operated Dale’s New and Used Cars in Pleasant Hill for over 50 years retiring in 2009. He was past member of the Pleasant Hill Lions Club and active in the Annual Howdy Neighbor Music Show. He was also past president of the Pleasant Hill Chamber of Commerce, past president of the Pleasant Hill Booster Club, a member of Jewel Lodge #480 A.F. & A.M., Pleasant Hill, and the Cass County Shrine. Beyond the civic clubs he sponsored many youth sports in Pleasant Hill.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents; and his two brothers, Ray McClintock and Clark McClintock.
He is survived by his four children, Cheryl Parris of Raymore, Dale (and Debi) McClintock, Jr. of Blue Springs, Cathy McClintock of Lee’s Summit, and Carrie Barker of Pleasant Hill; five grandchildren, Jill “Jillbee” (and Kelly) Keister of Osceola, Shayna (and Gary) Mansell of Blue Springs, Jason (and Kay) McClintock of Blue Springs, Madison Barker of Lee’s Summit, and Macey Barker of Pleasant Hill; two great grandchildren, Chase and Austin; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and a host of many friends.
Visitation was held Sunday, April 7, 2019, at the funeral home.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 8, 2019, at the Stanley-Dickey Funeral Home, Pleasant Hill, Missouri. Reverend D. Kent Deubner will officiate. Military services and interment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery with full military honors by the United States Air Force and V.F.W. Post #3118 Honor Guard. Casket bearers are George Clark, Sam Davenport, Gene Hamilton, Kelly Keister, Jason McClintock, and Clark Stanley. Honorary casket bearers are Chase Goodwin, Tom Hale, Austin Mansell, Jerry McClintock, Jay Ware, and Ben Woodrome.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Meals on Wheels or the Pleasant Hill Historical Society and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
