Dalton James Wheeler, of Garden City, Missouri, was born May 27, 1992 in Kansas City, Missouri the son of Donald James Wheeler and Michele Lee (Hedges Armstrong) Wheeler. He departed this life on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at his home near Garden City at the age of 21 years, 8 months and 2 days.
Dalton was a farmer and rancher and wanted to own his own cattle ranch. He loved and was very knowledgeable about cattle and would rather be in a field full of cattle than a room full of people. Dalton was a farm boy and always acted like a tough guy, but was actually a big teddy bear. Dalton was just a big goofball, there are no words to describe him. Dalton was just Dalton. He was a very caring person, always putting others first and didn’t have to be the center of attention. Dalton enjoyed spending time with family and friends and loved having get togethers at Bryan’s Shop. Dalton could always make people smile. The more he made fun of someone, the more they knew he loved them. We can picture him now quacking like Donald, saying his is just peachy, talking about the circle of life.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Jim Wheeler.
Dalton is survived by his father and step-mother, Don and Gaylene Wheeler; his mother and step-father, Michele Wheeler and Bryan Winter; four brothers, Wyatt Winter, Jake Wheeler, Levi Wheeler and Gabe Winter; two sisters, Whitney Winter and Emilee Wheeler; paternal grandmother Doren Ann Wheeler-Maloy; maternal grandparents, Diana "Nana" Wilson, Steven Hedges and wife Judy; great aunt and uncle and god parents, Dennis and Shirley Wilson; other relatives, and many friends.
Funeral services were held Monday, February 3, 2014 at the Heart of Life Church, Garden City, Missouri with burial in the Mullin Cemetery near Urich, Missouri.
Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Dalton James Wheeler Memorial Fund.
