David Watson

David Anthony Watson, of Butler, Missouri, was born July 21, 1925 in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of David James and Gladys Lee (Johnson) Watson. He departed this life Tuesday, September 5, 2006, at the Medicalodge of Butler at the age of 81 years, 1 month and 14 days.
On November 20, 1947, David was united in marriage to Juanita J. Jones in Kansas City, Missouri.
David was employed as a real estate agent for Andrews Agency, Harrisonville until his retirement in 1990. Later he was employed at the Country Creek Golf Course, Pleasant Hill, Missouri until 1997. Earlier David was employed by the Kansas City Fire Department for 6 years, the Ansul Chemical Company, Kansas City from 1954 to 1958 and was in the Home Remodeling Business and ran a farm south of Harrisonville from 1959 until 1984. He was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, Harrisonville and was a Navy Veteran of World War II. David was a member of the Hurley Lee Spicer Post #42 of the American Legion and the Cass County Memorial Post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars #4409 both of Harrisonville. He had lived in Kansas City and Harrisonville before moving to Butler in 2004.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Juanita Watson on March 26, 2006 and a brother, Richard Watson.
He is survived by two sons, Larry Watson and wife Pam, Raytown, Missouri, Ross Watson and wife Pat, Butler, Missouri; four grandchildren, David, James, Frank and Leah; four great-grandchildren, Cole, Ross, Kash, Ashton; three brothers, James Watson, Leawood, Kansas, Perry Watson, Overland Park, Kansas, Walt Watson, Colorado; a sister, Ruth Ann McCullough, North Kansas City, Missouri; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, September 9, 2006 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri with burial in the Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Kansas City, Missouri.
Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Twin Lakes Hospice.
