Don Clifford Scott, 75, of Belton, Missouri, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 31, 1950, in Humphreys, Missouri. Don attended elementary school in Humphreys and graduated from Galt High School in 1968.
Don was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and loyal friend. He married the love of his life, Marilyn A. (Herx) Scott, and together they shared 54 wonderful years of marriage.
He is survived by his children, Connie M. (Stephen) Valentich, Steven D. (Lindsey) Scott, and Randy A. (Judy) Scott; and by his beloved grandchildren: Kendra (Wesley) Wachner, Aubrey Valentich, Makayla (Alex) Johnson, Anne Scott, Patrik Scott, Garrett Valentich, Hailey (Nathan) Moore, Emma Valentich, Riley Rath, Emi Scott, Gavin Valentich, Carley Rath, Kaylana Scott, and Ilana Scott. He was preceded in death by his father Clifford Scott, mother Alene Scott, brother Dale Scott, and sisters Lois Brattin, Carolyn Overfield, and Marilyn Ahring.
Don was an active member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church from 1986 to 2023, where his faith and sense of community meant a great deal to him. He worked for A.J. Goss Distributors, where he dedicated many years of hard work before retiring. Known for his strong work ethic and steady nature, Don always gave his best in everything he did.
Outside of work, Don loved gardening and farming, finding peace and purpose in working the land and watching things grow. Family was truly the heart of Don’s life. He loved nothing more than spending time with his loved ones—whether it was camping trips with his kids, attending every game or performance his grandchildren were part of, or hosting the unforgettable fall parties he and Marilyn became known for. The sight of the grandkids laughing and diving into the giant leaf piles he spent hours preparing will forever be a cherished memory.
Don will be remembered for his quiet strength, his faith, his love of the outdoors, and his unwavering devotion to his family.
