Dorothy Marie Gough

Dorothy Marie Gough was born on July 15, 1931 near Garden City, MO, the daughter of Harold Edward and Dottie (Sisk) Gwinner. She enjoyed 93 years before departing this life on October 7, 2024.

Dorothy was united in marriage to Bobby Joe Gough on June 26, 1949 in Garden City, MO. Three children soon followed — Philip, Perry, and Penny.

While the children were younger, Dorothy filled many different roles such as homemaker, den mother, school room mother, and caring for children in her home. Later, she worked outside the home at IRS and a custom drapery business.

Dorothy was a charter member of the Raymore Christian Church. Throughout her life, she served her church in many capacities, particularly as a Sunday School teacher, a deacon, and an elder.

She was happiest when she could travel to New England in the autumn to see the trees, or watching Survivor on television, when she had a plate of chicken livers in front of her, or had a crossword puzzle or jigsaw puzzle to solve. She enjoyed keeping a lovely home, power-shopping with her friends, and raising a large vegetable garden. And Dorothy baked the best pies ever…

Dorothy is survived by her son, Perry Gough and his wife, Lynda, Belton, MO; her daughter, Penny Gough, Raymore, MO; two grandsons, Christopher Gough & his wife Stacey, and Jacob Gough; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to the Raymore Christian Church in Raymore, MO.
