Douglas Ray Leslie of Greenwood, Missouri was born June 13, 1960 in Independence, Missouri the son of Herbert Ellis and Patsy Joan (Snelling) Leslie. He departed this life on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 surrounded by love and family at his home after a 14 and 1/2 year battle with brain cancer at the age of 59 years, 8 months and 26 days.

On February 6, 1999 Doug was united in marriage to Nancy Louise Ahrens in Raytown, Missouri.

Doug was employed by Tech Electronics of Kansas located in Lenexa, Kansas as a Senior Low Voltage Systems Salesman. He was a member of Harvest Baptist Church, Blue Springs, Missouri and a 1978 graduate or Raytown High School. Doug enjoyed his family, fishing playing golf, watching and playing sports. He is a sports fan of the Royals, Chiefs and the KU Jayhawks. He and his family have moved several times, living in the states of Kansas, Oklahoma and Missouri. His last residence was with his wife and son on a peaceful 10 acres in Greenwood, Missouri. Where he watched Eagles each season and viewed wildlife off his field camera set in the woods by their pond.

He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Ellis Leslie.

Doug is survived by his wife, Nancy L. Leslie of the home; his son, Joel E. Leslie of the home; his two daughters, Erin Leslie, Lenexa, Kansas, Keri Quinones (Raul), Shawnee, Kansas; three grandchildren, Emma, Noah and Logan Quinones; his mother, Joan Leslie, Independence, Missouri; three brothers, Mark Leslie (Jacque), Lee's Summit, Missouri, Greg Leslie, Scottsdale, Arizona, Paul Leslie (Mickey), Lee's Summit, Missouri; other relatives and a host of friends.


Funeral services were held Saturday, March 14, 2020 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri with burial in the Garden City Cemetery, Garden City, Missouri.

The family received friends Saturday, March 14, 2020 at the funeral home.

The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to Head For The Cure or to the Horse Power and may be left in care of the Dickey Funeral Home.
