Dustin Tyler Travis age 41 of Peculiar, MO departed this life Thursday January 22, 2026 at his home.
Dustin was born January 28, 1984, in Kirksville, MO, the first child of Damon Kelly Travis and Bobbie Lynn May Travis.
The family moved to Harrisonville in 1986 where Dustin attended Pre-school at Kinder Kastle, and Elementary School, Middle School, and High School in Harrisonville, graduating in 2002.
He was baptized in Christ on May 2nd, 1993.
He attended college at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, MO on a basketball scholarship.
On May 28th, 2010 he married Heather Lango in Las Vegas, Nevada. To this union one child was born, a daughter, Remi Tyler Travis.
Dustin spent his adult life working in Construction, his last employment being with McCownGordon. He loved all things Chiefs and KU Basketball.
He is survived by his daughter, Remi Tyler Travis of Peculiar, his parents, Damon Travis of Peculiar, Bobbie Travis and partner Don Brown of Belton. His brother Tyson Travis of Harrisonville, his sister Kaitlin Saunders (Taylor) of Harrisonville, niece Stella Saunders, and nephew Cooper Saunders. His grandmothers, Loretta Dines (Lynn) of Harrisonville, and Donna May of Trenton. His Aunt Nikki Henley, Uncle Todd May, Uncle Warren Travis and Uncle Aaron Travis (Mary). Cousins Kyle, Courtney, Meghan, Drew, Derek, Bethany, and Brennan.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Orville Kelly Travis and Bobby Joe May.
Cremation with a celebration of life service will be held 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at Hope City Church, Harrisonville, Missouri.
Visitation will be held 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at Hope City Church, Harrisonville, Missouri
