Edith Margey Ritchie of Peculiar, Missouri was born January 19, 1916 in Rochester, Missouri the daughter of Samuel Savella and Nora Elma (White) Lininger. She departed this life on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at her home surrounded by love and family at the age of 101 years, 10 months and 21 days.
Besides being a homemaker. Edith was employed by several restaurants and was a cashier for several drug stores until her retirement. Since 1996, Edith was a faithful member of the Bible Fellowship Center, Independence, Missouri. She was named Mother of the Church for being the oldest living member. She enjoyed reading her bible, Christian books, listening to Christian music and playing solitaire. Edith had lived in Belton, Missouri before moving to Peculiar in 1991.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Marvin Armagost; her second husband, Ray Ritchie; two sons, John M. Armagost and Donald D. Armagost; six brothers and six sisters.
Edith is survived by three daughters, Thelma Jean Smith, Peculiar, Missouri, Janet L. Ellis, Gary, Texas, Linda J. Huston, Peculiar, Missouri; a passel of grandchildren; great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and host of friends.
