Ellen Jane Allen, of Harrisonville, Missouri was born August 28, 1931 in Urich, Missouri the daughter of Rolla Benjamin and Maude Mildred (Yeates) Graef. She departed this life on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at Golden Years, Harrisonville at the age of 84 years and 14 days.
On April 18, 1954, Ellen was united in marriage to Ivan H. Allen.
Ellen was a homemaker. Later, she was a cook for the Community Center on the square and then retired from the one on Jefferson Parkway. Ellen loved piecing quilts together, reading her Birds and Bloom and Country Extra magazines. She loved to cook and was known as a good cook for family and friends.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan Allen on July 3, 1982; two brothers, Merle and Gerald Graef; a sister, Shirley Shubert.
Ellen is survived by her daughter, Debbie Strickland of Harrisonville, Missouri; two grandchildren, Colton and Lisa Strickland; four great- grandchildren and one on the way; other relatives and many friends
Graveside services were held Thursday, September 17, 2015 at the Garden City Missouri Cemetery, Garden City, Missouri.
Services are under the care of Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.
