Emma Jean Smith of Harrisonville, Missouri was born October 8, 1942 in Lone Jack, Missouri the daughter of Leroy Burns and Genevia Louise (Holt) Eisel. She departed this life on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at the Cass Regional Medical Center, Harrisonville at the age of 73 years, 7 months and 11 days.
Emma Jean was employed as a custodian for the Harrisonville School District until her retirement in 2003. She was also employed at the Yanik Group Homes in the Cass County area. Emma Jean was a Harrisonville High School Graduate. She was a great friend and was known to take good care of her friends.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her two sisters, Alice Bearce and Dorothy Marie Burns.
Emma Jean is survived by her two sons, Curtis Smith and wife Brenda, State of Georgia, Shane Smith and wife Sally, Urich, Missouri; a nephew who was like a son, David Bearce and wife Susan, Blue Springs, Missouri; 4 grandchildren, Matthew, Ryan, Alyssa and Shayla; a brother, Bob Eisel and wife Kay, Harrisonville, Missouri; and beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews; other relatives and many friends.
Cremation. A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m., Saturday, June 4, 2016 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.
