Florence Bailey

Florence Bailey of Peculiar, Missouri was born July 28, 1924 in Olathe, Kansas the daughter of William and Hattie May (Renner) Saltzman. She departed this life on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at The Rehabilitation Center of Raymore, Raymore, Missouri surrounded by love and family at the age of 89 years, 7 months and 25 days.
On September 1, 1969, Florence was united in marriage to Claron Jake Bailey.
Florence was a homemaker and also was employed as a sales associate at Wal-Mart in Fredericksburg, Texas. She earlier was employed at Western Electric in Lee Summit, Missouri. Florence enjoyed her family, shopping, decorating for the holidays, traveling and going dancing. She had lived in Fredericksburg, Texas before moving to Peculiar, Missouri in October of 2011.
Besides her parents, Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Claron and a grandson, Travis.
Florence is survived by a son, Melvin B. Horner and wife, Donna, Peculiar, Missouri; a daughter, Leila Lynn Cannan and companion, David Arborgast of Osawatomie, Kansas; four grandchildren, Christine, Chad, Randy and Steve; three great grand-children; other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held Thursday, March 27, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.

Graveside services were held Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the Greenwood Cemetery, Fredericksburg, Texas.

The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to Serenity Care Hospice, Harrisonville, Missouri.
