Eugene "Gene" Jarrett of the Ballard Community near Urich, Missouri was born June 10, 1935 in Tulare, California the son of Wayne and Lucille (Cowan) Jarrett. He departed this life on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at his home at the age of 80 years, 2 months and 17 days.
On January 9, 1976 Gene was united in marriage to Patti Jeanne (Morris) Thomas in Harrisonville, Missouri.
Gene owned and operated Mod & Fab in Harrisonville, Missouri since 1976. Earlier he was employed at Ace Electric and Torotel in Kansas City and Solo Cup Company, Grandview, Missouri. Gene was a 1954 graduate of Norwood, California High School. He was a member of the NRA and an avid deer hunter. Gene enjoyed the outdoors and took his sons on several hunting trips to Colorado. A very caring husband, a compassionate dad, a loving papa and a child of God. Gene had lived in Harrisonville before moving to the Ballard Community. Besides his parents, Gene was preceded in death by an infant son, Mark Allen Jarrett; a grandson, Miles Thomas on March 25, 2009; a brother, Richard Jarrett.
Gene is survived by his wife, Patti J. Jarrett of the home; 3 son, Sam Jarrett and wife Cindy, Urich, Missouri, Marshall Jarrett and Kenneth Jarrett both of Stockton, Missouri; 3 daughters, Sandy Cornine and husband Tim, Marshall, Missouri, Marie Freez and husband Mark, Greenfield, Missouri, Becky King and husband Bill, Chilhowee, Missouri; 2 step-sons, Mark Thomas and wife Kathy, Belton, Missouri, Mike Thomas and wife, Missy, Kearney, Missouri; a step-daughter, Michelle Foreman, Branson, Missouri; 14 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Margaret Wooden, Bakersfield, California, June Gentry, Selma, California, Mary Jarrett, State of Arkansas; other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held Monday, August 31, 2015 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.
Graveside service were held Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at the Greenlawn North Cemetery, Springfield, Missouri.
