George Hoke

George Bowler Hoke of Harrisonville, Missouri, was born January 9, 1915 near Harrisonville the son of James Everette and Anna Lora (Hayes) Hoke. He departed this life Friday, March 9, 2007 at his home in Harrisonville at the age of 92 and 2 months.
On April 6, 1946, George was united in marriage to Clara Lucille Rogers.
George was owner - operator of Hoke Tow in Harrisonville until his retirement in 1987. Earlier, he had owned and operated several service stations in Harrisonville and Pleasant Hill. He was a member of the First Christian Church, Harrisonville. George attended Prairie Dell Rural School and was a graduate of Harrisonville High School. He was a lifelong area resident.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Clara Hoke of the home; three sons, Leon and Jim Hoke both of Harrisonville, Missouri, Gary Hoke, Stover, Missouri; four daughters, Marlene Davis, Lamar, Missouri, Linda Briscoe, Paducah, Kentucky, Tracy Wooten, Harrisonville, Missouri, Sherry Neale, Kansas City, Missouri; sixteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; a great-great granddaughter.
Funeral services were held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 13, 2007 at Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri with interment in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Pleasant Hill, Missouri.
Family suggests contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice or to the First Christian Church memorial fund, Harrisonville.
