George Leslie Leuty

George Leslie Leuty of Osceola, Missouri departed this life on May 25, 2026 at the age of 86. He was born on December 27, 1939, in Columbus, Kansas to Frank and Mary Leuty.

On November 7, 1958, he was united in marriage to Bertha Godfrey in Garden City, Missouri. Together they shared many years of love, family, and memories.

George worked as a mechanic for Ford and was well known for his ability to fix just about anything. He later owned and operated his own garage in La Tour, where he was always willing to lend a helping hand, often repairing vehicles at no charge or through barter. He retired in 2004 and later moved to the country with his brother, Paul.

He was a proud volunteer firefighter and enjoyed spending time outdoors and with his family. In his younger years, he loved riding motorcycles, four-wheelers, and dune buggies. He especially enjoyed building three-wheelers with his sons and making memories taking his children for rides on the “Green Machine.” Above all, he treasured the time spent with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Bertha Leuty; his son, Donnie; his brothers, LeVon “Vonnie,” Tom, and Paul; and his sister, Sharon.

He is survived by 5 of his children, Cora Leuty, Rita Woodward, Golda Leuty, Gladys Moon, and Leslie Leuty. His sister, Frankie Deloris Harris, 8 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren, friends and family.

He will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, generous heart, and the love he had for his family and community.
