Gladys Mae Poisal

Gladys Mae Poisal was born on January 1, 1942 to Everett and Mary Lee Bonar (Sites) in Creighton, MO. She departed this life on Tuesday, April 16, 2026 in Lee’s Summit, MO.

Gladys was baptized on June 5, 1955 at the Garden City First Baptist Church and she attended Creighton High School graduating in 1960.

She was united in marriage to Kenneth Poisal Sr. in Garden City, Missouri on April 23, 1964 and they made their home in Creighton, where they resided together for 56 years and raised two children.

She had many jobs during her life including working at Western Electric, the Dari-Dine in Archie with her sister-in-law RayeAnn, and nearly 25 years as the custodian at Sherwood Cass R-8, all the while helping her husband farm.

She loved to check the cows, work in her garden, plant flowers, go to garage sales, work on jigsaw puzzles, and go to little league games; but her favorite job was babysitting her grandkids and even better the great grandkids.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her son Ken in 2023, her sister Betty, her brother David, and her parents.

Gladys is survived by her daughter, Georgia Mandl and husband Rob, Lee’s Summit, Missouri; six grandchildren, Stacy Cumpton (Joe), Brian Mandl (Julia), Eric Miller (Ashton), Gary Mandl (Jody), Kaylee Poisal, Dustin Poisal; seven great-grandchildren, Emily Cumpton, Jack Cumpton, Olivia Mandl, Easton Miller, Kendall Miller, Bonnie Mandl, Frances Mandl; and Cherie Mantzey.

To honor her wishes, no formal services will be scheduled.
