Glenn Sterling Kepner passed away Tuesday July 11, 2023 at his home outside of Urich, MO at the age of 52. He was born in Clinton, MO on October 25, 1970 to Sterling Glenn Kepner and Sandra Ann (Workman) Kepner.
Glenn was happiest when he was “In The Wind” on one of his Harleys. He wanted one last ride, but his health wouldn’t allow him to feel the wind before he passed on.
Glenn was a hard worker spending many years in construction, metal work and demolition. He worked for KC Demo for a time as a supervisor and really enjoyed his job there. He spent much of his time growing up helping his dad farm on the old Jesse Dial Hall farm which his grandparents, Glenn and Mary Kepner owned. Glenn especially enjoyed raising cattle with his dad in the years before Sterling passed away in 2011.
His hobbies included: riding his ‘93 Harley, hunting, fishing, working on anything with an engine, reading, playing guitar and spending time with his family and friends.
Glenn was preceded in death by his grandparents: Glenn Sterling Kepner, Mary Lena Kepner, Earl Leroy Workman and Ruth Marie Workman. His parents: Sterling Glenn Kepner, Sandra Ann (Workman) Bryant and step-mother Peggy Ann (Mills) Kepner. His Aunt Mary Sue Fountain, Uncle Fred Fountain, Uncle Max Overbey and Uncle George Kerns. Cousins: David Lynn Fountain, Dennis Ray Overbey, Max Douglas Overbey and Susan Kay Ross.
Glenn is survived by his wife Kathy Jo Kepner of the home, one son Jacob Sterling Kepner of Urich, MO; 4 step-children: Harley Reece of Drexel, MO, Ian Bridges of Drexel, MO, Dakota Barnett and wife Kelci of Butler, MO, Wyatt Barnett of the home and various other step-children through the years. His siblings: Angela Denise Littlejohn of Clinton, Mo, Mary Ruth (Kepner)Campbell and husband Bobby Campbell of Urich, Mo, Shyla MaRae Spatz of Clinton, MO, Jade Star Cemper of Pratt, KS and Sage Dawn Kadavy of Lincoln, NE. Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephew and great-nieces and nephews.
You will be greatly missed and forever loved. We hope you are riding “In The Wind” wherever your bike may take you.
Memorial graveside services for Glenn Kepner will be held at 4:20 p.m., Saturday, July 22, 2023 at the Urich Cemetery, Urich, Missouri. Family is asking that all motorcycles meet at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday at the Grand River Boat ramp near Urich. A motorcycle procession will proceed through Urich arriving at the cemetery at 4:20 p.m. Following the inurnment service a Celebration of Life gathering will be held at Mary Campbell’s home, 1519 NW 800th. Road, Urich, Missouri 64788.
